On the tree-lined boulevard, riders and carriages; street, daily life: pedestrians, stalls, small trades, transport a piano, shops including that of wallpapers at the sign "In the landscape". Rue Basse du Rempart (built in 1775), ran along the north side of the road (built from 1685) to the church of the Madeleine.
