In 1921, Albert Barnes bought a batch of watercolors by Paul Cézanne from Leo Stein (Gertrude Stein's brother), including this one showing the chaîne de l'Etoile mountain range in the south of France. During recent conservation treatment, a previously unknown watercolor by the artist—an unfinished sketch of trees—was discovered on the back. Cézanne often worked this way, using both sides of the page in his sketchbooks as he walked the landscape around Aix-en-Provence.

Which kind of fine art print material do you favor?
In the dropdown lists right next to the product you can pick your individual size and material. You can choose among the following product customization options:
- Aluminium dibond print: Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an outstanding effect of depth, which creates a contemporary look throuch a non-reflective surface. The bright and white sections of the original work of art shine with a silk gloss, however without any glare. The colors of the print are luminous in the highest definition, the details appear crisp and clear.
- Poster (canvas material): The poster is a UV printed flat canvas with a slight surface structure. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2 - 6cm round about the artwork in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
- Canvas print: A canvas print, which should not be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital replica printed on an industrial printing machine. It makes the typical impression of three dimensionality. Also, a printed canvas makes a nice and pleasant appearance. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. That is why, a canvas print is suitable for any type of wall.
- Print on acrylic glass: A glossy acrylic glass print, which is sometimes named as a plexiglass print, transforms your favorite artwork into beautiful home décor and offers a distinct alternative to aluminium and canvas art prints. With an acrylic glass fine art print sharp contrasts plus minor image details become visible thanks to the very subtle gradation in the print.
