Portrait of a Man was made by Anthonis Mor van Dashorst. The beyond 450 year-old original measures the exact dimensions: height: 69,2 cm width: 55,8 cm | height: 27,2 in width: 22 in. Oil on canvas was used by the painter as the technique for the masterpiece. The original artwork was inscribed with the information: signed and dated: Antonius morus / pingebat A° 1561. Furthermore, this piece of art is in the the Mauritshuis's digital art collection, which the Mauritshuis is home to the best artworks of Dutch painting of the seventeenth century. We are happy to state that this masterpiece, which belongs to the public domain is provided with courtesy of Mauritshuis, The Hague. Furthermore, the artpiece has the following creditline: E. Secrétan, Paris; his sale, Paris, 1 July 1889, lot 146; purchased, 1889. Further, the alignment is portrait with a side ratio of 3 : 4, meaning that the length is 25% shorter than the width. The painter Anthonis Mor van Dashorst was an artist, whose artistic style can primarily be assigned to Mannerism. The Mannerist artist lived for 56 years - born in the year 1519 and passed away in 1575.
