English: The art critic Émile Durand-Gréville (1838–1914) was perhaps not one of the more prominent writers in Paris in the late 1800s. He became friends with Degas in the 1870s. Little is known concerning their relationship. Degas portrays Durand-Gréville en face – frontally. This portrait is presumably a sketch, since the background is far from completed and the work is unsigned. Degas mainly painted portraits of his family, friends, contemporary writers, artists and other cultural celebrities. Portraits make up about one-fifth of his entire output.

Which kind of print materials can I select?
The product dropdown menu gives you the opportunity to select the material and size of your choice. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:
- Printed poster (canvas material): Our poster is a UV printed sheet of canvas with a slightly roughened finish on the surface. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the painting to facilitate the framing.
- Metal print (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an impressive effect of depth. Its non-reflective surface creates a contemporary impression. A direct Aluminium Dibond Print is your best introduction to fine prints manufactured on aluminum. For our Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print your favorite artwork right onto the aluminium composite surface. Colors are bright and luminous in the highest definition, the details of the print appear crisp.
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): The acrylic glass print, often named a fine art print on plexiglass, makes an original work of art into wall decoration and is a distinct alternative option to aluminium and canvas fine art prints. The major benefit of an acrylic glass fine art print is that contrasts and small artwork details become more visible with the help of the subtle gradation. Our plexiglass protects your selected art print against light and heat for decades.
- Canvas print: A printed canvas applied on a wood stretcher frame. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being low in weight, meaning that it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without the support of extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for any type of wall.
