Original description from the museum (© - by The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

The famously gifted Kauffmann was an artist, singer, and linguist, a member of Rome’s Accademia di San Luca, and a founder member in 1768 of the Royal Academy, London. Her preference was for history painting, but her wealth and fame came from portraiture. With her second husband, Antonio Zucchi, she had settled permanently in Rome in 1782. There the couple met Monsignor Spina, who became a close personal friend and was with Zucchi in 1795 during his final illness.Spina was in his early forties and recently ordained when he sat to Kauffmann, almost certainly in January of 1798. His long nose and black brows are set off by tightly curled powdered hair. He wears a magnificent lace surplice. The elegant monsignor was a confidant of Pius VI and, in the service of the church, would become a skilled diplomat.

  • The canvas print: A canvas print, which shall not be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital copy printed onto canvas. It generates a sculptural impression of three dimensionality. Besides, printed canvas creates a cosy and positive ambience. A canvas print has the advantage of being low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suited for all types of walls.
  • Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, which is often referred to as a an art print on plexiglass, changes an original work of art into décor and is a distinct alternative to dibond and canvas prints. The artwork will be custom-made with the help of state-of-the-art UV direct printing technology. This creates stunning, intense color shades.
  • Aluminium dibond (metal print): This is a metal print made on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding effect of depth, which creates a modern look thanks to a non-reflective surface. The Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your best introduction to replicas produced on aluminum. The white & bright sections of the original artpiece shimmer with a silky gloss, however without glow. Colors are luminous in the highest definition, the details of the print appear crisp.
  • Poster print (canvas material): A poster is a printed canvas paper with a fine surface finish. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the painting to facilitate the framing.
