The 20th century masterpiece "Marie of Gerl (I)" was created by the art nouveau master Ferdinand Matthias Zerlacher in 1910. The 110 year old masterpiece was made with the size: 49 x 35 cm - frame dimensions: 63 x 58 x 4 cm and was manufactured with the techinque of oil on canvas on cardboard. The masterpiece has the following inscription: signed and dated top right: Zerlacher / 1910. Today, this artwork can be viewed in in the art collection of Belvedere, which is one of Europe's most famous museums with three locations that blends the experience of architecture and art in a unique way. Besides, the artpiece has the creditline: purchase from Rudolf Lechner, Vienna in 1942. In addition to this, the alignment is portrait with a ratio of 1 : 1.2, meaning that the length is 20% shorter than the width. Ferdinand Matthias Zerlacher was a painter from Germany, whose artistic style can be attributed mainly to Art Nouveau. The European artist was born in 1877 in Graz and passed away at the age of 46 in the year 1923 in Salzburg.
