Additional description from The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)
These two scenes from the life of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino, a thirteenth-century Augustinian saint, were part of an altarpiece dedicated to him in the Muzzarelli chapel in the church of Sant’Andrea in Ferrara, the centerpiece of which was a sculpture. They show two of the saint’s many miracles, one in which he revived a child who had died before being baptized and another in which, despite being bedridden and unwell, he refused to eat cooked partridges that subsequently flew away. The scenes are noteworthy for their effects of light and the beauty of the simple spaces in which the saint carries out his miracles.

Legal note: We try the best we can in order to describe the products as closely as it is possible and to illustrate them visually in our shop. Still, the pigments of the print products, as well as the printing may diverge slightly from the representation on your device's screen. Depending on your settings of your screen and the condition of the surface, not all colors are printed as realistically as the digital version depicted here. Considering that the art reproductions are printed and processed manually, there may as well be minor deviations in the size and exact position of the motif.
