This is a truly Romantic landscape, full of drama and stark contrasts. The horseman holds onto his hat, while seeking shelter from the imminent thunder-storm. The last rays of sun still shine on the ground, but the storm and the rain are advancing quickly. Roelofs’ approach in this early work is still Romantic: later he opted for a more realistic rendering of the landscape.

Materials our customers can choose
For every art print we offer a range of different materials and sizes. The following options are available for individualization:
- Aluminium dibond print: This is a metal print manufactured on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding depth effect. For the Direct Aluminium Dibond option, we print the artpiece on the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The white & bright parts of the artpiece shine with a silky gloss but without glare. Colors are luminous and vivid, fine details of the print appear crisp and clear, and you can really notice the matte appearance of the surface. This UV print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is an extremely contemporary way to display art reproductions, since it puts the viewer’s attention on the image.
- Glossy acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy acrylic glass print, which is sometimes described as a UV print on plexiglass, will transform your chosen original into wall décor.
- Canvas: The canvas print, which shall not be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is an image printed on an industrial printing machine. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight. That means, it is easy to hang up your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. That is why, a canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
- The poster print (canvas material): A poster is a printed canvas with a granular surface texture. The printed poster is suited for framing your art copy using a custom frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6 cm round about the print motif in order to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.
