The four-painting series "Reiherbeize in Laxenburg" (inv. No. 2574-2577) is one of the major works in the work of Johann Christian Brand. Title Please refer to individual parts of falconry, which extended over a whole day and were killed in the Hawks with herons. The first painting (inv. No. 2577) shows the morning departure for the hunt, the herons are still high to see flying in the sky, while the second (inv. No. 2574) the fighting birds can be seen. (.. Inv No 2575) in the afternoon, the spectacle continues - in the middle ground a hare by a dog and a falcon followed - while (2576 inventory number..) The prey is collected in the evening. However, more important than the presentation of hunting pleasure is the documentary character, to have regard to the landscape view the paintings: Precision is the area around Laxenburg held and the four images by different perspectives to add to speak together to form a panorama. In contrast to the idealized landscapes reproduced earlier centuries represents the minute signs of reality with Johann Christian Brand a significant step in the development of landscape painting represents.
