Original information about the artwork by The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (© Copyright - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)
Painted in the 1280s, this head is a fragment of a large painting of the Madonna and Child (whose blessing hand and knee can be seen). The artist was a close follower of Cimabue, the principal painter in Florence before Giotto. It was not uncommon to excise the head of the Madonna from a venerated image and encase it in another work of art as a focus of devotion.

Your product product material choices
We offer a range of different materials and sizes for every product. Choose among the following product options now to match your preferences in size and material:
- Canvas print: A UV printed canvas applied on a wooden stretcher frame. It has the plastic effect of three-dimensionality. Hanging a canvas print: Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy to hang your Canvas print without the help of additional wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
- Acrylic glass print: The acrylic glass print, which is often labelled as a UV print on plexiglass, will turn the original work of art into lovely décor. Above all, it offers a great alternative to aluminium and canvas prints. The major benefit of an acrylic glass print is that sharp contrasts and smaller image details will be more identifiable because of the precise tonal gradation of the picture.
- Printed poster (canvas material): The Artprinta poster print is a printed sheet of flat canvas with a fine surface texture. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6 cm around the work of art to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print material with a true depth effect, which creates a modern look thanks to a non-reflective surface. The bright parts of the work of art shine with a silk gloss, however without any glare.
