John the Baptist, dressed in ocher mélote and a himation, is represented to the shoulders, three-quarter. Her hair, long, dense, somewhat disheveled as his beard. Facial features are fine, very long, tapered nose and the eyes are large. The background of the icon is green, and the nimbus of the prophet who cleared outwards and ends with a golden net.
Made in Moscow, this icon is the right of a Deesis, probably for the iconostasis of a church where, according to tradition, were to exist, in addition to St. John the Baptist, at least one icon of Christ and of Madonna tour to his son.
