Grenier and Lautrec were fellow students in the Paris atelier of academic history painter Fernand Cormon during the 1880s and became fast friends: Lautrec even lived briefly with Grenier and his mistress, Lili, an actress and model, and made several portrayals of the couple. An inscription on the verso of this portrait indicates that it was painted in Lautrec’s Montmartre studio in the rue Caulaincourt in 1887. He employed thin, watercolor-like washes of pigment, laid over a fine pencil underdrawing, to produce a sensitive character study of his comrade.

Pick your item material variant
We offer a range of various sizes and materials for every product. You can pick your preferred size and material between the following alternatives:
- The poster print (canvas material): The poster is a UV printed sheet of canvas paper with a granular texture on the surface. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an impressive depth effect. Its non-reflective surface structure creates a fashionable look. The Aluminium Dibond Print is the ideal introduction to replicas produced on aluminum. For the Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artwork on the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is a truly stylish way to showcase artworks, because it puts all of the viewer’s focus on the whole artwork.
- The canvas print: The canvas print, not to be confused with a canvas painting, is a digital replica printed onto cotton canvas fabric. The advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is easy to hang up the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. A canvas print is suitable for all kinds of walls.
- Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): The print on acrylic glass, often referred to as a print on plexiglass, will turn your favorite original work of art into brilliant décor. Beyond that, the acrylic glass fine art print is a good alternative to dibond and canvas art prints. Our real glass coating protects your custom art print against sunlight and heat for many decades.
