What does the original artwork description of the The Metropolitan Museum of Art say about the artwork painted by Francisco de Goya? (© Copyright - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - www.metmuseum.org)

This imposing portrait is one of four that Goya painted of members of Count Altamira's family. (Another is the Museum's portrait of Don Manuel Osorio Manrique de Zuñiga [49.7.41].) The patronage of this powerful family greatly advanced the artist's career; shortly after this work was completed, he was appointed court painter to Charles IV, king of Spain. Goya's brilliant treatment of the countess' gown, with its shimmering embroidered silk, attests to his mastery of technique, while the distant, introspective expressions of the sitters reveal his ability to endow even the most formal of portraits with a penetrating psychological immediacy.

Select your preferred item material

We offer a range of different sizes and materials for every product. The following options are available for individualization:

  • Aluminium dibond (metal print): An Aluminium Dibond print is a material with an impressive effect of depth - for a modern look and a non-reflective surface structure. For the Direct Aluminium Dibond print, we print your favorite work of art right on the aluminium composite surface. The colors of the print are luminous and vivid, the details are very clear, and you can literally feel a matte appearance of the surface.
  • Canvas: A canvas print, not to be mistaken with a canvas painting, is a digital image printed from a UV direct printing machine. Also, a printed canvas generates a familiar, warm appearance. Hanging your canvas print: Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. This means, it is quite simple to hang up the Canvas print without the help of additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for all types of walls.
  • Printed poster (canvas material): A poster is a UV printed flat canvas with a fine surface finish, that reminds the original version of the masterpiece. A print poster is excellently suited for putting your fine art print with a personal frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • The acrylic glass print: A glossy print on acrylic glass, often denoted as a UV print on plexiglass, will convert the artwork into wall décor and forms a good alternative option to dibond and canvas art prints. Your work of art is custom-made with state-of-the-art UV print machines.
