The material options

For every fine art print we offer different materials and sizes. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:

  • The poster print (canvas material): A poster print is a UV printed canvas paper with a slightly rough surface structure, which resembles the actual version of the masterpiece. A print poster is best qualified for framing your art replica with the help of a custom frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the painting to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
  • Canvas: The canvas direct print is a printed canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher. Your canvas print of your favorite work of art will let you turn your art print into a large collection piece. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is easy and straightforward to hang up the Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with a true depth effect. For our Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the artpiece on the surface of the aluminum material. The colors of the print are luminous in the highest definition, the fine details of the print are very clear. The direct UV print on aluminium is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is a sophisticated way to display fine art reproductions, since it puts the viewer’s attention on the whole artwork.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating on top): An print on acrylic glass, which is often denoted as a print on plexiglass, will convert the artwork into stunning wall décor. Your own copy of the work of art is custom-made with the help of modern UV printing machines.

Legal disclaimer: We try whatever we can to describe the products as closely as possible and to demonstrate them visually in our shop. Still, the tone of the print materials and the print result can differ to a certain extent from the representation on the device's screen. Depending on your settings of your screen and the nature of the surface, not all color pigments are printed 100% realistically. In view of the fact that the art prints are printed and processed by hand, there may as well be minor discrepancies in the size and exact position of the motif.

General specifications from the museum (© - The Metropolitan Museum of Art - The Metropolitan Museum of Art)

Courbet first witnessed a waterspout at Trouville, a village on the Channel Coast, in 1865 or 1866. This dramatic phenomenon, a tornado at sea, occurs when temperature differences in the air create a whirling spiral of wind and water. Courbet first painted the subject in 1866 (Philadelphia Museum of Art). The present picture features the cliffs of Étretat, as does a second, undated version of the composition (Musée des Beaux-Arts, Dijon).
