Gallery label: In 1817 Michallon was awarded a prize created especially for him at the insistence of his teachers. The prestigious honor allowed the young artist to spend the next two years in Italy, where he painted numerous outdoor sketches such as this one. The falls at Tivoli were a favorite of foreign artists visiting Italy. Michallon used loose brushwork and a luminous palette to render his view of the countryside. The goatherd gazing at the famous waterfalls represents a much more informal technique and subject than the dramatic themes Michallon attempted in his larger, historical landscape paintings.

Product materials our customers can choose from

We offer a range of different materials and sizes for every product. The following options are available for individualization:

  • Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster is a printed canvas paper with a nice structure on the surface, that reminds the actual artwork. It is particularly suited for putting your art copy in a special frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin 2-6 cm around the artwork to facilitate the framing.
  • Aluminium dibond print: This is a metal print made on aluminium dibond material with an impressive depth effect. For the Aluminium Dibond option, we print your chosen artwork on the aluminium surface. The bright & white sections of the original artwork shine with a silk gloss, however without the glow. This direct print on Aluminum Dibond is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is a truly sophisticated way to showcase fine art prints, as it puts all of the viewer’s focus on the whole artwork.
  • Canvas: A printed canvas mounted on a wood frame. Further, a canvas produces a familiar, enjoyable look. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. Because of thatcanvas prints are suitable for any type of wall.
  • The acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): A glossy acrylic glass print, often labelled as a print on plexiglass, transforms the original work of art into amazing wall décor. The major advantage of a plexiglass fine art copy is that sharp contrasts and also color details become more visible due to the precise gradation in the print.
