  • The acrylic glass print: The acrylic glass print, often described as a an art print on plexiglass, transforms your favorite artwork into home décor. Your own version of the work of art is being custom-made with state-of-the-art UV direct print technology. It creates intense and sharp color tones. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts plus artwork details will be more exposed thanks to the very fine gradation in the print.
  • Printed poster on canvas material: The poster is a UV printed canvas with a nice surface structure, which reminds the actual work of art. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin 2-6 cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • The canvas print: A UV printed canvas mounted on a wooden frame. It creates the special look of three-dimensionality. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for any kind of wall in your home.

Legal disclaimer: We try the best we can in order to depict our art products with as many details as possible and to demonstrate them visually on the different product detail pages. At the same time, the colors of the print materials, as well as the imprint might vary slightly from the image on the screen. Depending on the settings of your screen and the quality of the surface, color pigments may not be printed one hundret percent realistically. Considering that all art prints are printed and processed by hand, there may as well be slight deviations in the motif's exact position and the size.

Willem Kalf came from a wealthy merchant family from Rotterdam. As a young man he went to Paris where he specialised in still lifes and rural interiors.

The "Splendid" still life The work shown here is an example of the new canon for the “Pronk” or “Splendid” still life that he established in his mature years. Focusing on only a few objects, Kalf used an evocative clair-obscur style particularly excellent for depicting light reflected in the surfaces of the objects, be it the velvety apricot bowl, the glossy porcelain, or the mother-of-pearl nautilus cup.

The still life's objects The objects shown in Kalf’s still life were far beyond the reach of common folk. For example, the lidded vessel of rock crystal with gold trim shown in the middle is the so-called Holbein Bowl owned by Henry 8. (1491-1547) until 1649, a piece that Kalf might have seen in the art galleries of Amsterdam. Between the Holbein Bowl and the porcelain bowl is a pocket watch with an open crystal lid and a key suspended on a blue string. Perhaps the watch is also the key to a moral message that our earthbound materialistic lives will soon come to an end?
