Angelica Kauffmann was born in Switzerland but made her reputation in Italy and England, where she was a founding member of the Royal Academy. In Rome she frequented the sophisticated intellectual circle of Winckelmann and Mengs. These pictures were painted for Monsignor Onorato Caetani shortly after Kauffmann settled in Rome, in 1782. The subjects are taken from Fénelon's romance Télémaque, first published in 1699. In one picture Telemachus and his companion, Mentor, who have been washed ashore, are welcomed by Calypso and her nymphs. In the other, Calypso motions her nymphs to be silent when their songs about Telemachus's father Ulysses make him sorrowful.

For our Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your favorite artpiece right onto the aluminium composite white-primed surface.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): The acrylic glass print, often referred to as a an art print on plexiglass, will change an original artwork into stunning home décor and is a great alternative to canvas or aluminium dibond fine art replicas. The major advantage of a plexiglass fine art print is that sharp contrasts and small details become identifiable with the help of the delicate tonal gradation in the picture. The plexiglass protects your custom art replica against light and external influences for several decades.
  • Poster (canvas material): The poster is a UV printed canvas paper with a slight structure on the surface, that resembles the actual version of the artwork. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the artwork, which facilitates the framing.
  • The canvas print: The canvas direct print is a printed cotton canvas stretched on a wooden stretcher. It makes a typical effect of three-dimensionality. The canvas creates a cosy and appealing effect. Your canvas print of your favorite artwork will provide you with the unique chance to turn your individual into a large work of art like you would see in a gallery. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight. This means, it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suited for any type of wall.
