In 1832 the Danish painter Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg made this 19th century artwork with the title "Bertel Thorvaldsen, the Danish Sculptor". The original had the following size: Height: 91 cm (35,8 ″); Width: 74 cm (29,1 ″) Framed: Height: 106 cm (41,7 ″); Width: 91 cm (35,8 ″); Depth: 9 cm (3,5 ″). Oil on canvas was used by the artist as the technique for the masterpiece. It can be viewed in in the Nationalmuseum Stockholm's digital collection, which is Sweden's museum of art and design, a Swedish government authority with a mandatet o preserve cultural heritage and promote art, interest in art and knowledge of art.
