The woman represented, called La Parisienne, wearing a dress afternoon deep black with draped arranged on hips inspired by the dress to cart 18th century. The presence of a gilded wood console rococo style is also a reference to the age of Louis XV. The mural interlacing on foreshadows her floral curves of Art Nouveau.

In the monograph devoted to his father, Giron Simone says that the painter had met the model for this table to Ville d'Avray near Paris and nicknamed the Black Diamond.
