On the Place de la Concorde, at the corner of the Rue de Rivoli and Rue Royale, the statue symbolizing the city of Strasbourg is decorated with tricolor flags and wreaths.

October 25, 1836, King Louis-Philippe erected in the center of the Place de la Concorde Obelisk of Luxor given by the viceroy of Egypt, Mohammed Ali. Then Jacques Hittorf, between 1836 and 1840, conceived of amenities which include statues symbolizing eight different cities of France, overcoming pavilions instead. The allegory of the city of Strasbourg is located on the corner of the Rue de Rivoli and Rue Royale.L'Alsace and Lorraine have been lost to the Germans after the defeat of the French army in 1870, it became a symbol of national tragedy and was veiled in black crepe. Also, during the celebrations of the Armistice in 1918, she received plenty tricolor flags and wreaths.
