The old bearded man represented three quarters, firmly holds his cane. Emerging from the shadows, face and large gnarled hands are shaped by a light coming from the left of the table and that seems to fix the blue eyes of the old man.

This figure is part of the kind of portraits by Ribot in Normandy.
