Bernard Germain de Laville, Count of Lacépède was both a scientist, author of numerous books physics and natural science, musician and politician. Member of the Legislative Assembly in 1791, he was president from 28 November to 9 December. Having fled the excesses of the Terror, he returned to Paris after the fall of Robespierre. After 18 Brumaire, he was part of the Conservative Senate at its inception (December 24, 1799).
