Demachy exhibited at the Salon of 1777 a painting entitled "a saltpetre Workshop" (No. 70), we approached Carnavalet the table. However, the boards of the "Dictionary of Science" (Vol. VI, mineralogy) is refining saltpeter in a very different way. It was also suggested that it could be a mercury distillation workshop.
