Shown is the wife of internists and neurologists Prof. Samuel Stern, who was portrayed as the same time also of Romako (see. Inv 3162). Mathilde star standing with arms crossed in a relaxed pose on a brown armchair. The background is a dense thicket of pomp or morning glory (Ipomoea) with white and blue flowers. Since the morning glory like the ivy is a vine that can not grow without a support, it is possible to apply the symbolism of loyalty for this plant. Similarly, the heart-shaped leaves can be interpreted as a symbol of love. Accordingly, they used Romako in a timely manner resulting portrait of a lady in red dress (Inv 5966).
