Allegory of the birth of the Dauphin on 22 October 1781. Collective portrait of the provost and aldermen of the City of Paris in 1782. France holds in his arms the Dauphin; Wisdom precedes and Health supports. Following him are Justice, Peace and Abundance. On a porch, right, the body of the City is receiving Dauphin and thank heaven this he has done to France. In the background, left, an ornate obelisk portraits of the king and the queen referred to the victory of York Town which news came the day of the birth of the queen (from the description of the catalog of the Salon 1783).
