  • Poster print (canvas material): Our poster is a UV printed sheet of flat cotton canvas with a slightly roughened structure on the surface. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the artwork, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • Canvas print: The canvas print, not to be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital replica printed from a UV direct printing machine. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without the use of additional wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for all kinds of walls.

Directing large workshop that produced religious and mythological paintings in Antwerp, Frans Floris pioneered the use of head studies like this one to work out expression and movement for complex figural compositions. Peter Paul Rubens, Rembrandt, and other painters of historical subjects in the 17th century continued this practice. Whereas large finished works from Floris’s shop probably involved the participation of assistants, head studies were executed by the master himself. This study, which may represent Hercules or a figure from a Last Judgement, is marked with his monogram FFF in the upper-left corner.
