Pick a item material option

For every art print we offer different materials & sizes. The following options are available for individualization:

  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, often labelled as a plexiglass print, will change your selected original work of art into home decoration. Your artwork is manufactured with modern UV direct printing technology. The real glass coating protects your chosen fine art print against light and heat for many years to come.
  • Canvas print: The UV printed canvas material applied on a wooden frame. It produces the special look of three-dimensionality. How do I hang a canvas on the wall? A canvas print has the advantage of being low in weight, meaning that it is easy to hang up your Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for all kinds of walls.
  • Metal print (aluminium dibond): These are metal prints on aluminium dibond with an impressive depth. A non-reflective surface make a contemporary impression. For the Direct Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print your selected work of art on the surface of the aluminum composite. The white & bright parts of the original artpiece shine with a silk gloss but without glow. The direct print on aluminium is the most popular entry-level product and is an extremely stylish way to display fine art prints, as it puts 100% of the viewer’s attention on the whole artwork.
  • Printed poster on canvas material: Our poster print is a printed sheet of canvas with a nice finish on the surface. The poster is used for putting your art copy in a custom-made frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster print we add a white margin 2-6 cm around the work of art to facilitate the framing with a custom frame.

Important information: We try our best to describe our art products as closely as possible and to showcase them visually on the product detail pages. However, the pigments of the printed materials and the print result might vary somehwat from the representation on the screen. Depending on the settings of your screen and the quality of the surface, not all colors will be printed 100% realistically. Considering that all art reproductions are printed and processed by hand, there might as well be minor deviations in the motif's size and exact position.

In the Low Countries, the taverns were the center of social life of the popular classes. They gather there to smoke with a drink of beer, play cards, or to listen to the reading of the Gazette. Here, David Teniers II represents a group of three men smoking with a fireplace. In the background, a fourth urine in a basin. In this scene, the characters are stereotypes of "smoking". The painter does not give a view taken on the spot and does not make a portrait, he transcribed the daily life of his time through figures and motifs (the barrel pierced with a rectangular opening, the pitcher, ...), that found repeatedly in his paintings. The seated man wearing a beret to pen down his shoulders and coarse features, is found perfectly in "Smoking in a tavern" (Madrid, Prado Museum), as well as in other tables. David Teniers II has made a specialty of the representation of popular scenes, somewhat "sprees". Always in small formats, he worked and reworked several times the same theme. Thus, "The Bonnet red" (Wrotham Park Collection), "Green Bonnet" (Lugano, The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection) and "The Smoking" (Wallace Collection, London), among others, form the picture of Small a Palace group on the popular theme of tobacco smokers.

The Smoke was in the collection of Mesnard Knight Clesle. It appears in the sale of December 4, 1786, lot 08, sold for 3301 pounds to Mr. Courmont). It then appears in the sale of Robert of St. Victor, November 26, 1822 at Lot 118, awarded 5800 frs Mr. Claussin. He then entered the collection of Dutuit brothers, and will be integrated to the legacy of Augustus in favor of the City of Paris in 1902.
