General information from Art Institute Chicago website (© - Art Institute Chicago - Art Institute Chicago)

With its low horizon line, monochrome palette, and direct paint handling, this intimate panel is characteristic of the river landscapes of Jan van Goyen’s early maturity. He used the white ground to impart a luminous tonality to his rapidly brushed paintings. In a society that provided a broad market for art, Van Goyen was an active dealer, auctioneer, and appraiser, as well as a prolific maker of art.

The material options

For every product we offer different sizes and materials. Choose among the following product options now to match your preferences in size and material:

  • Metal (aluminium dibond print): Aluminium Dibond prints are metal prints with an impressive depth. For the Aluminium Dibond option, we print your favorite artpiece onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum. The white and bright parts of the artpiece shimmer with a silky gloss but without the glare.
  • Poster print (canvas material): A poster print is a UV printed canvas paper with a slightly roughened surface texture. Please note, that depending on the size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Canvas: A printed canvas, not to be confused with an artwork painted on a canvas, is a digital image printed from a UV direct printing machine. A printed canvas of your favorite artwork will allow you to transform your customized art print into a large size collection piece as you would see in a gallery. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang the Canvas print without any wall-mounts. A canvas print is suited for any kind of wall.
  • Print on glossy acrylic glass (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, often labelled as a print on plexiglass, makes the artwork into décor. Your artwork is being made with state-of-the-art UV printing machines. The special effect of this are deep, intense color tones. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts plus minor painting details become recognizeable thanks to the very fine gradation.
