The facade of the theater fits between the Boulevard Saint-Martin, left, and Rue de Bondy (now rue René Boulanger), right.

The second stage of the Ambigu was built in 1827-1828, after a fire in the first room of the Boulevard du Temple, by Lecointe Hittorff and architects. Opened June 8, 1828, it was demolished in 1966.
