The archangel Gabriel’s announcement to Mary that she will give birth to a son, and her immediate acceptance of this news, represent the moment of Christ’s Incarnation. Although The Annunciation appears to be an independent painting, it is actually a fragment that once formed the right side of an altarpiece; the left side, now in the National Gallery, London, depicts the moment of Mary’s own Immaculate Conception, believed to have occurred when her parents, Joachim and Anne, greeted each other at the Golden Gate. A central section, now lost, probably featured the enthroned Virgin and Child, perhaps with Saint Anne. Jean Hey, known as the Master of Moulins, was the leading painter working in France in the last decades of the fifteenth century. He worked in Moulins in central France for Duke Pierre II of Bourbon and his wife, Anne of France, who played a large role in the government of of the kingdom during the minority of Anne’s brother Charles VIII. As their court painter, Hey, who was probably of Netherlandish origin, fused the intense naturalism and preciousness of Flemish and French painting and manuscript illumination with the emerging Renais-sance interest in antiquity, as is evident in this painting’s Italianate architecture.

  • Print on glossy acrylic glass: An acrylic glass print, which is sometimes described as a plexiglass print, will change your favorite original into lovely home décor. Further, the acrylic glass print makes a good alternative to canvas or aluminium dibond fine art replicas.
  • Printed poster (canvas material): Our poster is a printed sheet of canvas paper with a nice texture on the surface. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster we add a white margin between 2-6cm around the work of art, which facilitates the framing with a custom frame.
  • Aluminium dibond print: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with a true effect of depth, which creates a fashionable look by having a non-reflective surface structure. The Aluminium Dibond Print is the perfect start to fine art reproductions on aluminum. The bright components of the artpiece shine with a silky gloss but without any glare. The colors of the print are luminous and vivid, the details of the print appear very clear, and the print has a a matte look that you can literally feel.
  • Canvas: The printed canvas material applied on a wooden stretcher frame. In addition to that, a canvas generates a lovely, warm impression. Canvas prints are relatively low in weight, meaning that it is quite simple to hang your Canvas print without additional wall-mounts. Canvas prints are suitable for any kind of wall.
