The painter Eduard Ender was a European artist from Austria, whose artistic style can primarily be assigned to Historicism. The European artist was born in the year 1822 in Rome and died at the age of 61 in 1883.

The sitter was born in Batelov in today's Czech Republic on 11 January 1795th In Jihlava he was educated at the College of Education. In 1812 he worked as a teacher in Potěhy (near Časlav) in what is now the Czech Republic. His father Matthias Benesch was rain Chori and music teacher. His first music lessons Joseph Benes received from him, and he later studied with Martin Schlesinger in Vienna. In 1815 he joined the Count Zinnique chapel and went in 1819 on tour to Italy, Ljubljana and Hungary. In 1823 he became director of the orchestra and teacher of violin at the Philharmonic Society in Ljubljana. In 1828 he returned to Vienna and was in 1833 a member of the court orchestra, as well as assistant to the director at the Court Theater. He wrote numerous virtuoso compositions for violin.
