Wearing a Capuchin habit, Saint Francis (1181/82–1226) is shown on a rocky precipice, silhouetted against an evening sky. He was famously devoted to Christ crucified and is shown in a state of ecstasy. The open book and skull are symbols of the vanities of the world and mortality. Castiglione employs a richly varied technique to mark the transition from the material world to the spiritual. The picture was painted in Rome, probably as an altarpiece, though its original location is unknown.

The material choices
The product dropdown menu provides you with the possibility to choose the material and sizeaccording to your personal preferences. The following options are available for individualization:
- Print on glossy acrylic glass (with real glass coating): The acrylic glass print, often labelled as a UV print on plexiglass, will change the artwork into brilliant décor and is a good alternative option to aluminium or canvas art prints. The artwork will be manufactured thanks to state-of-the-art UV printing machines. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts plus small details will be identifiable because of the precise gradation of the print.
- Aluminium dibond print (metal): Aluminium Dibond prints are prints on metal with an outstanding depth, which creates a modern look with a surface , that is not reflective. A direct Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is the ideal introduction to art prints on aluminum. For our Print On Aluminum Dibond, we print the favorite artpiece right onto the aluminium composite white-primed surface. The bright and white parts of the original artwork shine with a silk gloss but without any glare. The colors are luminous, fine details appear very clear, and there’s a matte appearance you can literally feel.
- Poster on canvas material: Our poster print is a printed canvas paper with a slightly roughened surface structure. It is suited for placing your art copy in a custom-made frame. Please note, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6 cm around the painting to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.
- Canvas: A canvas print, which should not be confused with a canvas painting, is an image printed directly on canvas. Hanging your canvas print: A canvas print has the great advantage of being relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suited for any type of wall.
