Gallery label: After establishing a career in Delft as a painter of restrained interiors featuring domestic scenes and merry companies, de Hooch moved to Amsterdam around 1661, and his paintings began to feature increasingly elegant settings. In this painting, the grand interior’s marble floors and wall moldings evoke the luxurious standards of the prosperous merchant class that arose in Amsterdam in the middle of the century. The elegantly attired figures are engaged in music making, wine drinking, and, above all, romance. Combined with their gently flirtatious leisure activities and the refined decor, the sunny canal scene visible in the background contributes to the atmosphere of serenity and pleasure.

Materials our customers can choose from
For every art print we offer different materials and sizes. The following options are available for individualization:
- Print on glossy acrylic glass (with real glass coating on top): A glossy print on acrylic glass, which is sometimes named as a fine art print on plexiglass, will transform the original into beautiful home décor and offers a good alternative to aluminium and canvas fine art replicas. With an acrylic glass art print contrasts and color details become exposed with the help of the very fine tonal gradation of the picture.
- Aluminium dibond (metal print): This is a metal print made on aluminium dibond material with an outstanding depth. Its non-reflective surface creates a fashionable impression. A direct Direct Print on Aluminum Dibond is your excellent introduction to art reproductions on aluminum. For your Aluminium Dibond print, we print your artpiece onto the surface of the white-primed aluminum material. The colors of the print are luminous in the highest definition, the fine details of the print appear very clear. This print on Aluminum Dibond is the most popular entry-level product and is an extremely sophisticated way to showcase fine art reproductions, because it puts all of the viewer’s focus on the replica of the artwork.
- Poster (canvas material): The poster print is a UV printed canvas with a granular surface structure. The poster print is suited for placing the art replica with the help of a customized frame. Please note, that depending on the absolute size of the canvas poster print we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
- Canvas print: A printed canvas, which should not be mistaken with a real canvas painting, is a digital replica printed from an industrial printing machine. A canvas generates the special effect of three-dimensionality. A canvas print has the advantage of being low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang your Canvas print without the help of additional wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suitable for all types of walls.
