This painting remained in the artist's studio and then to his son until donated to the museum by the widow of the latter in 1956.

The more than 130 year-old original version was painted with the dimensions: Height: 24,2 cm, Width: 32,2 cm. Oil, Canvas (material) was applied by the artist as the medium of the painting.
