This small painting depicts the Island of San Cristoforo, located in the lagoon of Venice, near the island of Murano. The church of San Cristoforo built on the island was destroyed in 1810, and the Island of San Cristoforo and its neighbor, the island of San Michele, which were separated by a channel, were united in 1837 to form the cemetery Venice.
