In an idealized classical landscape, the Saint Carlo Borromeo next to a huge marble sarcophagus covered in bas-relief depicts a adoration of the shepherds. The presentation was based on a painting attributed to Rafael from c.1635. Borromeo pointing to the relief while two men, including a deacon, appeals. A crippled man sitting next to him on the sarcophagus. Left in the foreground runs the Holy Family with the Infant Jesus on a donkey, accompanied by a young man. In the middle stabbing a blind boy and a blind girl about a water stream. Right on the second plan gives a richly dressed man alms to a group of beggars.
