This painting may be Renoir's earliest signed canvas. Its sensitive display of color and light communicates an ideal of delicate, youthful beauty. The luminous tones of the background drapery and of the child's white blouse result from the artist's careful observation of reflected light and color on translucent materials. The delicate nuances of color, particularly in the young girl's face, reveal Renoir's previous training as a decorator of porcelain. He painted this portrait, commissioned by the vacationing Lacaux family, during his stay at an artist's colony in the village of Barbizon, near Paris.

Which would be your favorite art print material?

We offer a range of various sizes and materials for every product. You can select your favorite material and size between the following options:

  • Printed acrylic glass (with real glass coating): The print on acrylic glass, which is often referenced as a UV print on plexiglass, transforms the original artwork into beautiful home decoration and offers a good alternative to aluminium or canvas prints. The real glass coating protects your chosen fine art print against light and external influences for many years to come.
  • The canvas print: A canvas print, which should not be confused with a painting on a canvas, is a digital copy applied directly on cotton canvas. The great advantage of canvas prints is that they are relatively low in weight, which means that it is easy and straightforward to hang up the Canvas print without extra wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for all types of walls.
  • Aluminium dibond: An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with an outstanding effect of depth, which creates a modern impression by having a non-reflective surface. A direct Aluminium Dibond Print is the best introduction to fine art reproductions manufactured with aluminum. Colors are luminous and vivid in the highest definition, details are very clear, and you can perceive the matte appearance of the print. This UV print on aluminium is one of the most popular entry-level products and is a modern way to display fine art reproductions, as it puts 100% of the viewer’s attention on the replica of the artwork.
  • Poster print (canvas material): The Artprinta poster is a printed sheet of cotton canvas with a slight structure on the surface. Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of approximately 2-6cm around the painting in order to facilitate the framing.
