Please bear in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of something between 2-6cm around the painting in order to facilitate the framing with your custom frame.

A vast polder, cows in the meadow and – in the background – a windmill: these have been the hallmarks of the Dutch countryside since the 17th century. Such landscapes with cows near a ditch were Willem Maris’ speciality. He especially lavished attention on the atmosphere; and, indeed, the warmth of a summer day is almost palpable in this painting.

This 19th century artwork with the title Meadow with Cows by the Water was made by the Dutch artist Willem Maris. What is more, the artwork can be viewed in in the art collection of Rijksmuseum, which is the largest museum for Dutch art and history from the Middle Ages to the present day. The painter Willem Maris was a European artist from the Netherlands, whose style can mainly be classified as Impressionism. The Impressionist artist was born in 1844 in Hague, The, South Holland, Netherlands and deceased at the age of 66 in the year 1910.
