Jacob van Ruisdael was perhaps the most versatile Dutch landscape painter of the 17th century. He produced several distinct landscape types: mountains, woodlands, rivers, waterfalls, beaches, seascapes and panoramic views. This painting is an early example of a landscape with a water mill, a type Ruisdael popularized. The dense, meticulous rendering of foliage and the naturalistic coloration of the trees and sky are typical of his earlier works. Jacob van Ruisdael is the son of Isaak van Ruisdael (1599-1677) and the nephew of Salomon van Ruysdael (about 1602-1670).

Choose your product material

For every fine art print we offer different sizes & materials. We allow you to pick your favorite size and material among the following product individualization options:

  • Aluminium dibond print (metal): An Aluminium Dibond print is a print with an outstanding depth. The bright & white sections of the original artwork shine with a silky gloss but without the glare. The colors of the print are luminous and bright in the highest definition, the details appear clear and crisp. The direct print on Aluminum Dibond is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is an extremely contemporary way to display fine art reproductions, because it puts all of the viewer’s attention on the image.
  • Canvas print: The printed canvas material applied on a wooden frame. What is more, canvas print generates a familiar, comfy appearance. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being relatively low in weight, meaning that it is easy to hang up your Canvas print without the help of any wall-mounts. That is why, canvas prints are suited for all kinds of walls.
  • The glossy acrylic glass print: An acrylic glass print, often labelled as a print on plexiglass, changes the original work of art into amazing wall décor and is a distinct alternative to canvas and dibond fine art replicas. Your own copy of the work of art is custom-made with the help of modern UV print technology. The major upside of an acrylic glass fine art copy is that contrasts and also granular details will be visible because of the fine gradation of the picture. The real glass coating protects your chosen art print against sunlight and heat for many years.
  • Poster print on canvas material: The Artprinta poster is a UV printed sheet of canvas with a granular finish on the surface, that resembles the original version of the artwork. The poster is suited for placing your art replica using a custom frame. Please bear in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin of around 2-6cm around the print, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
