The merchant Niels Ryberg is shown sitting on a bench in the parklands of the manor house Frederiksgave on Funen, with his son Johan Christian and his daughter-in-law Engelke in front of him.

A new interest in nature The son makes a gesture with his hand, as though to show off the family estate. There is a strong feeling of harmony between the people and the countryside in which they are placed, and the picture reflects the new interest in nature that emerged all over Europe towards the end of the 18th century.

The bourgeoisie and the aristocracy It also, however, demonstrates how Denmark’s new rich of the time wished to carry themselves on a par with the dominant social group, the aristocracy. Ryberg and his son appear as distinguished as the many aristocrats that Juel also portrayed.

The portraits of Juel Jens Juel was by far the leading portrait painter in Denmark during the years leading up to 1800, creating more than a thousand portraits during his career. Juel always made sure that his models looked their best. His pictures are characterised by elegance and carefully rendered details. Juel was excellent at capturing the latest trends, and his art reflects the transition from the lofty portrayals of the Rococo (as seen in Pilo) to more realistic depictions. However, the picture of the Ryberg family also has a classical feel. This painting is certainly Juel’s largest work.

Hence, a canvas print is suited for all types of walls in your home.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): The acrylic glass print, often described as a plexiglass print, will turn an original into lovely wall decoration. Your artwork is being manufactured with the help of modern UV printing machines. This creates deep, vivid color shades. The major advantage of an acrylic glass fine art print is that contrasts and also image details will be recognizeable due to the fine gradation of the picture. The acrylic glass protects your chosen fine art print against light and heat for many years.
  • Poster print on canvas material: The Artprinta poster print is a printed sheet of canvas paper with a slightly rough texture on the surface, which reminds the original work of art. It is suited for framing your fine art print with a custom frame. Please keep in mind, that depending on the absolute size of the poster print we add a white margin of something between 2 - 6cm around the print motif in order to facilitate the framing.
  • Aluminium dibond (metal print): This is a metal print made on aluminium dibond with an impressive effect of depth. The bright and white parts of the original work of art shine with a silky gloss, however without glare. The colors are luminous in the highest definition, the details are very clear, and there’s a matte appearance you can literally feel. This print on Aluminum Dibond is the most popular entry-level product and is an extremely stylish way to showcase fine art prints, since it draws attention on the image.
