This doting mother in picturesque dress and her angelic offspring are two of many such figures that Bouguereau painted with an eye to the international market. The scene is highly similar in subject and composition to Breton Brother and Sister, also dated 1871 (hanging nearby), and both works were bought by New York collectors—a testament to the popularity that the artist’s scenes of "princesses dressed up as milkmaids" enjoyed in America.

Choose your art print material option

For every product we offer different materials and sizes. Choose among the following product options now to match your preferences in size and material:

  • The poster print (canvas material): A poster print is a UV printed canvas with a granular finish on the surface, that resembles the original version of the work of art. Please keep in mind, that depending on the size of the poster we add a white margin of around 2-6cm round about the print motif, which facilitates the framing with your custom frame.
  • Acrylic glass print (with real glass coating): An acrylic glass print, which is sometimes referenced as a plexiglass print, changes your favorite original artwork into brilliant home décor. Your favorite artwork is made thanks to the help of state-of-the-art UV print machines. With an acrylic glass fine art print contrasts and also image details become more identifiable because of the very fine gradation in the print. The acrylic glass protects your selected art replica against light and external influences for decades.
  • Aluminium dibond print: These are metal prints on aluminium dibond material with a true depth effect. A direct Aluminium Dibond Print is the excellent introduction to art prints with aluminum. The colors of the print are luminous and vivid, the details are crisp, and you can literally perceive a matte appearance of the product. The UV print on Aluminum Dibond is one of the most demanded entry-level products and is an extremely contemporary way to showcase fine art reproductions, because it draws attention on the image.
  • Canvas: The printed canvas, which should not be mistaken with a painting on a canvas, is a digital image printed onto canvas fabric. Your printed canvas of this artpiece will let you turn your personal fine art print into a large size work of art like you would see in a gallery. Canvas Prints have the advantage of being relatively low in weight, which implies that it is quite simple to hang up your Canvas print without the help of extra wall-mounts. Therefore, a canvas print is suitable for any kind of wall.
